Quality Life Assurance Company Ltd.(QLAC) has fulfilled its promise to the top three (3) National best farmers for the year 2013.
The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture in charge of crops, Dr. Ahmed Alhassan received the awards on behalf of the farmers in his office at the Ministry of Food and Agriculture in Accra.
Making the presentation at the Office of the Deputy Minister the Marketing Manager of QLAC, Mr. Daniel Bugyei explained the benefits within the policy. He mentioned that the policy is a Term Assurance that has been packaged to cover Terminal Illness, Total and Permanent Disability resulting from accident or ill health. The package was for a total benefit of GH¢30,000.00 with the break down as follows;
The National Best Farmer was given a Life cover of GH¢15,000.00.
The First Runner-up was also granted a benefit of GH¢10,000.00 whilst the Second Runner-up had a benefit of GH¢5,000.00.
Mr. Bugyei noted that it is a collective responsibility of all Ghanaians especially those in the corporate world to contribute their quota towards the development and well being of our farmers who contribute immensely to the socio-economic development of our dear Nation Ghana. He indicated that the nutrition and well-being of the citizenry depends significantly on the farmers and deserve to be given a proper recognition in the Country. But for them there would be no food on our tables. He concluded by saying that QLAC has positioned itself to always lend a helping hand to our gallant farmers whenever the need arises.
The Deputy Minister for MOFA in charge of crops, Dr. Ahmed Alhassan expressed the appreciation of the Ministry to the Board, Management and Staff of QLAC for their kind gesture and further appealed to QLAC to make this gesture an annual event to support Ghanaian farmers in their future endeavours.
Present at the ceremony were; Mr. George Kpor, Coordinator for the NBFA 2013,Mr. Ignatius Agbo the 2011 National Best farmer and Mr. George Fiashide, Snr. Marketing Officer, QLAC.
